Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Civion handles personal data when you visit civion.cloud, join the early-access list, or contact us.

1. Who we are

Civion is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. Contact: hugo@civion.cloud.

2. What we collect

Information you give us. When you email us to join the early-access list or with a question, we receive your email address and anything you include in the message, such as your name, role, company, country or the type of section you design.

Information collected automatically. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may process technical data such as your IP address, request logs, browser type and the pages requested, for delivery, security and abuse prevention. We do not currently use analytics, advertising trackers or cookies on this site.

Payment data. The early-access beta is free. When paid plans launch, payments will be handled by Paddle as Merchant of Record. We do not receive or store your full card details.

3. How we use your information

  • to respond to your message and manage the early-access list;
  • to send you the email you asked for when the beta opens, and occasional product updates if you have agreed to receive them;
  • to understand which sections and workflows are most useful, in aggregate;
  • to keep the site secure, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal bases

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on: your consent when you ask to join the early-access list or receive updates; our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, running and securing the service, and improving the product; the performance of a contract if you use a paid service; and legal obligations where applicable.

5. Sharing

We share personal data only with service providers that help us run Civion, and only as needed:

  • Hosting: GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.) serves this website and may process technical logs. See GitHub’s privacy statement.
  • Email: our mailbox provider processes the emails you send to hugo@civion.cloud.
  • Payments (at launch): Paddle.com Market Ltd or its affiliates processes payments and related data as Merchant of Record. See Paddle’s privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal data.

6. International transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.

7. Retention

We keep early-access contact details until the beta opens and for a reasonable period afterwards, or until you ask us to delete them. Correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle the enquiry and meet legal obligations. Hosting logs are retained by the hosting provider under its own policy.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to receive a copy of it, or to withdraw consent. To exercise a right, email hugo@civion.cloud. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

9. Cookies

This site does not currently set cookies or use analytics. If that changes, this policy will be updated and, where required, consent will be requested.

10. Children

Civion is a professional engineering tool and is not directed at children. Do not send us personal data about children.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.

12. Contact
